#edcmooc Reactions to Week 2 Videos

So far I've watched the first two videos for #edcmooc Week 2...one by Corning and one by Microsoft. While I liked the Corning one better than the Microsoft, I didn't prefer either one.

I'm old. Well, not really. Just in my 40's. But as much as I'm really trying to embrace technology and love all things Mac, that future just seemed too wired & weird to me. (Notice how wired and weird are the same letters just rearranged??)

It reminds me of when I was a little girl. I guess I must have been around 10 or 11. My grandmother lived with us. She must have been almost 80 at the time. Back then, people were just talking about cable coming out. I can clearly remember my grandmother saying, "Why do we need to get news from some Chicago station? We have everything we need right here in Fort Worth." (She was referring to WGN, which I guess was one of the first cable stations.) She didn't live to see cable come to our home. She didn't feel she ever missed out either.

If that's our future, I'm sure I'll be ready for it and embrace it when the time comes. I really do love new gadgets and technology.

I sent the video to my kids, one in fifth grade, one in third. I'll be interested to get their view.
